Hello

1. The Speed to my vServer in Frankfurt is not so good.
22:28:21 (1.56 MB/s) - `100MB' saved [104857600/104857600]
Some Weeks before the Speed was 10 - 11 MB/s (From OVH over the GBLX into 10 Gbit GBLX from my vServer Provider).
Now the Routing goes over the full Decix Link. Why not over GBLX ?

Code:
traceroute to www.star-hosting.de (217.20.115.156), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1 p19-17-m2.routers.ovh.net (213.251.160.252) 0.573 ms 0.466 ms 0.410 ms
 2 p19-7-6k.routers.ovh.net (213.251.130.129) 0.372 ms 0.292 ms *
 3 rdb-2-6k.routeurs.ovh.net (213.186.32.42) 0.691 ms 0.560 ms *
 4 de-cix01.fra3.gatewayrouter.net (80.81.192.147) 15.491 ms 15.386 ms 16.510 ms
 5 89-149-218-22.internetserviceteam.com (89.149.218.22) 15.628 ms 15.702 ms 16.685 ms
 6 schiller.xl-server.de (217.20.115.156) 14.988 ms 15.819 ms 15.830 ms
2. Speed to mos.at (routing over Decix Link) and some other .at Provider is bad (only 200 - 400 kb/s). I hope it will be better with the bigger Decix Link.

And Oles can you put the Capacity of the Links / Peering in the Weathermap ?

Ow, just 300Mbp/s. Thats not much, but I have to say, I am very happy with it. I have a good ping from EDPnet Belgium, so I guess it is enough.

great ! son telekom.at no problem. I think the x10Gbps connexion to decix
will resolv lot of problem. Right now I got 200Mbps off since I moved a
peer to amsix. But all europeen's peering have to be upgraded to x10Gbps.

it's normal. the routers are not here to answer to ICMP requets
but to route the packets. what you have to ping is the final IP,
not a router IP since the service you buy is the routing from
IP to an another and not the ping to a router's IP performance.

> "http://test.rbs.leaseweb.net/1000mb.bin" i got only 2,3mb average..

as I told, it's the leaseweb limitation, not ovh. move you servers
to an another hoster or/and make the test from a true x10Gbps network.

hmm ..

yes. at the moment I have 3 servers in this problem. no more customer
have this problem. the 3 customers with the problem on EG have a new
server 1giga and they have no more problem with the new server. So in
real there is no customer with this network problem in production.
We have to check the 3 serevrs why they have the problem.

What does it mean "proof" ? It means that you have to give me a file
to download and traceroute input and output with ip from and ip to.
So I will be able to check it and see this problem on my console.
At the moment, some people decribes a problem but nobody want or
can give a proof of problem. well for me if you can't give me a
proof even if I ask you it, there is no problem. I'm binary man
O = no problem
1 = problem: which, how to see it, how to check etc

no proof = no problem.
I can confirm that. Speeds from Autria are not very good during the last days. A few weeks ago I was always geeting full 6 MBit/s from my server, but right now only 60-200 KByte/s are possible. Same from ovh.dl.sourceforge.net, so I don't think it has to do with my server in specific.

Right now I'm getting ~80 KByte/s:

traceroute to 85.127.113.163 (85.127.113.163), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 rbx-5-m2.routers.ovh.net (91.121.20.252) 0.541 ms 1.035 ms 0.396 ms

4 rdb-2-6k.routeurs.ovh.net (213.186.32.42) 4.129 ms * 4.146 ms
5 ff-m-GB-11-cix.frankfm.germ.inode.de (80.81.192.47) 14.239 ms 14.483 ms 14.471 ms

9 85.127.113.163 (85.127.113.163) 44.345 ms 44.515 ms 48.272 ms

The trace does not show anything special, but the bottleneck seems to be OVH's connection to the DE-CIX, which seems to be heay used at the moment (86% usage refering to the "weathermap").

Hmmm what does it mean? Peoples report probs with network, effected are server with 1Gbit connects. Angie discovered the same probs and you tell peoples 3-4 servers are effected only?

Please appologize following words: I really doubt about '3-4' effected servers only...

Hello,

I can download the posted file http://test.rbs.leaseweb.net/1000mb.bin at approx. 10MByte/s from a server connected with 100Mbit/s over DECIX (AS31333).
Over the german science network i get about 3 till 5Mbyte/s (from RWTH Aachen).

From OVH it's about 2-4MByte/s.

the speed form server is OK (10 mb/sec up and down), but de routing from Austria is very very very bad (~20kb/sec). We have test it form 4 ISP's and 2 server.

about 1 -2 month ago, de routing / speed was perfekt.

okey. it's a description of the problem. now I need to test it.
how can I test and see what you describe ?

@oles@ovh.net

the routing inside of ovh is bad. gbit server to gbit server max 30mb/s.
outside in france max. 3-5mb/s is not good. if you have more carrier with 10gbit
"10Gbps mit T-Systems + DWDM 10Gbit/s" and angie said "100Gb/s is max. speed of ovh". can you said me, where is the speed. i can´t find him inside and not outside. your routers whit interface from inside to outside he stop the speed ~60-70%. your inside network-speed is max. 60% on the night 03:00 AM. please check routing inside and outside. more than one of your users have speedproblem´s and a bad routing.
>>> we said you, if we have problems. others user don´t said this.
thanks for reading and best regards.

there is only 3 servers/20000 servers which have some unknown problem
that we are working on. at the moment the customers got a new better
server on our costs while we are fixing this problem. so it's not a
general problem. juste a strange problem on 3-4 servers.

well, at the moment I don't see any trafic problem. you have the
problems with the others hoster that propose only 10Mbps connexion.
that is all.

I don't know how are you, which server do you use, no traceroute,
no ping, no a file to test. well, "same here" cann't help anyone.

I download this file at 10Mbps (Ovh and an another network).
So it's a problem on leaseweb network. not on our network.

this server is not in Ovh. I try to connect and it's still down.
are you sure is it a problem on our network ? ...

we propose 1gbps, but is it server on 1gbps network ? I mean
you can have 1gbps but it this server is on 10Mbps network
you will not download from this server at 1Gbps but 10Mbps.

4 1giga.above.routers.ovh.net (213.186.32.234) 194.704 ms 195.637 ms 5.590 ms

hier sieht man welcher router atm lahmt...

Nichts des to trotz nachts is der speed nachts viel besser als tags und ich rede nicht nur von ein paar kb sondern ein paar 100 kb nach DE.

I have to say, that I personally don't have any traffic problems with the 100Mbit/s servers. I tested with Binford a file from a Gigabit Server, and that caused problems. But the Hardware seems to be replaced, will be replaced.

Hi,
Is there any connexion problems ? Trafic ? Mbps ?

We will upgrade soon Decix to 10giga (sep), Amsix to 10giga
(nov/dec) and Linx (nov/dec). We will add some new private
peering and a new projet will start soon ...
